Why your land
The hardest thing to find for a battery isn't the battery — it's a grid connection. Substations and power
stations are where the grid already has the cables and capacity to move large amounts of electricity in
and out, so land close to them is far more valuable for storage than its farming or yard use suggests.
- Close to the grid. Ideally within a mile or two of a substation or power station.
- Small footprint. A battery site is a few acres: containers on a gravel base behind a fence.
- Quiet neighbour. No chimneys, no traffic once it's built, and it's screened with planting.
- Any type of land. Fields, rough grazing, yards and brownfield can all work.
02
How it works
-
You tell us about the site
Where it is, roughly how big, and how far it is from the substation. A postcode or what3words is plenty to start.
-
We check the grid
We look at the nearby connection capacity, access, flood risk and planning, at our cost. If it works, we say so quickly; if not, we say that too.
-
We agree terms
A flat fee, a revenue share or a sale — whichever suits you — with an option agreement while we secure the grid connection and planning.
-
We build and run it
We pay for and manage construction, operation, insurance and, at the end, removing everything and restoring the land.

Ways to work with us
Flat annual fee
Predictable
A fixed rent every year for the length of the lease, rising with inflation. You know exactly what you'll get, whatever the electricity market does.
Revenue share
Upside
A percentage of what the battery earns, usually with a guaranteed minimum. When power prices swing, the battery earns more — and so do you.
Sell the land
One payment
We buy the site outright, once the grid connection and planning are in place. Simple, and the value reflects what the land is worth for storage.
Every site is different, so we make each offer on its location, size and grid capacity. Leases typically run
for decades, with an option period first while we secure the connection and planning — during which we can
pay an option fee.
04
What we take care of
- All the costs. Surveys, grid applications, planning, legal fees for the agreement, construction.
- Access and disruption. We agree routes and working hours with you before anything starts.
- Insurance and safety. The site is fenced, monitored around the clock and fully insured.
- Putting it back. At the end of the lease, we remove the equipment and restore the land.

Questions landowners ask
How much land do you need?
Usually a few acres. Smaller plots can work if they're close enough to the grid.
How close to a substation does it have to be?
The closer the better — within a mile or two is ideal, because the cable to the grid is a big part of the cost.
Can I keep using the rest of my land?
Yes. We only need the fenced site and an access route; everything else stays yours to use as before.
Is there any cost or commitment to talk to you?
None. We assess the site at our own expense, and you're free to say no at any point before signing.
Is it noisy?
Battery sites make a low hum from their cooling fans, designed to meet strict planning noise limits at the nearest homes.
